Architectural jewel re-opens
In Mataró there is a warehouse designed by Gaudí. It was build in 1883 and it is famous of its unique structure of 12 wooden parabolic arches supporting the ceiling. Renovation work began 2001 has cost 2,000,000€. Mataró's city council had to change the company entrusted with the work three times, it cost 700,000€ more than originally budgeted for.
The building is one of Gaudí's earliest work and the first to utilise the parabolic arch.
